05/13/08

The "Beautiful Battlin' Bat Babes" do it again, rip the Rams 4-1
The "Babes' bashed out 12 hits as "Chee Chee" Kehr and "Sweets" Sweeney doubled and Manissa "Go Gurl" Blackwell, Desaree Dez-E" Fillmyre and Emily "Money" Million each had two hits. And the "Bat Babes" got it done without the services of their super leftfielder, Katie "Smooth" Schreck. The Schreckster, who at the lead-off spot is one of the Flashes Gals best hitters sat out the game with an injured finger. Filling in at the lefield spot was freshman Brittany "Tee-Nee" Logan. Go Brit!

With the win, the "Battlin Bat Babes" improve their record to 10-6 with five games remaining in the regular season. If they can manage to win them all (definitly possible), not oly will they finish the regular season witha very respectable 15-6 record, they would share the Freedom Division title with New Egypt, one of the five games they have left to play. Even with the record that they have now, they are ranked nimber 10 in Group 1 schools by the Star Ledger, a testament to the fact that the six losses came against quality opponents including a 1-0 loss to Bordentown (# 8 in the state, # 1 in Group-1), a 1-0 loss to Kingsway (# 13 state, # 2 in Group-3) and a 5-4 come from behind loss to New Egypt (# 10 state, #1 in Group-1). Their only blow-out loss came against 16-1 Williamstown (#9 in the state # 4 Group-4) in a game in which pitcher Kelly "Oh-Kay" Garganio had to leave the game due to an injury suffered in a previous game played the same day In the Hammonton Tournament. The "Bat Babes" won the first game.
