Flashes Gals post second victory
Kelly "Oh-Kay" Garganio belted a three run double and tossed nine strikeouts as the "Beautiful Battlin' Bat Babes" turned up the hitting in an 8-3 victory over the Lady Lancers. The "Babes" punched out eleven hits including four doubles. Chelsea "Chee-Chee" Kehr led the barrage going 4-4 with a double and scored twice. "Oh-Kay" was 2-4 with three RBI's, Erin "Sweets" Sweeney went 2-3 with a double and two RBI's. Katie "Smooth" Schrek had two hits in four at-bats and drove in a run and Carlie "Sugar" Maple doubled and drove in a run.
Chelsea "Chee-Chee" Kehr holds the runner at first base
The Flashes Gals fell behind two zip early in the game, but freshman utility player Brittnay "Tee-Nee" Logan got the fire started in the third inning with some dazzling base running to reach third base on a lead-off passed ball. The "Battlin' Bat Babes" pushed across four runs in the inning to take the lead an never looked back. "Oh-Kay" Garganio duplicated her plate performance in the circle scattering only six hits and three walks over seven innings to pick up her second win of the season. After a (slightly) shakey start to the season (two close losses in the Millville Tournament) the Flashes Gals, with four new players in the line up are beginning to look like they can repeat as last year's Freedom Division champs and seriously defend their state group one championship.
