@ Home 05/ 07/08   BAM BAM BAM "Bat Babes" bash Blue Devils pounding out three doubles as hitting improves

The Flashes Gals are gainging momentum with 4-2 victory (their second straight win)  as they move towards the playoffs
"Chee-Chee" Kher, "Sugar" Maple and "Oh-Kay" Garganio each hit run scoring doubles as the "Beautiful Battlin' Bat Babes" jumped out to a first inning two zip lead and then came back to score two more in the fifth after the Lady Blue Devils had tied the score in the fourth inning. All in all the "Babes" did well in the hitting department, getting runners on base with a slew of singles, laying down good bunts and running the bases.  Pitcher Kelly "Oh-Kay" Garganio struck out the side in the first inning and the "Babes" were off and running as Katie "Smooth" Schreck led off the inning with a single, and move to second on Deserae "Dez-E" Fillmeyr's sacrifice bunt. Fearing her big bat, the Blue Devils decided to walk the mighty "Chee-Chee" Kehr but Carly "Sugar" Maple followed with a double to left center to push accross two runs.

Although the hitting has improved, the "Bat Babes" still have to get better on the defensive end if they expect to make a serious attempt at defending their state championship. The younger players are really going to have to step it up a notch as the competition will definately get better down the line.
